One Minute and Go - Day 284
At 1 Minute and Go, our mission is to foster a deeper understanding of faith, hope and love. We want to cultivate a habit of God first with scripture and prayer.
In a world bustling with noise & distraction, the One Minute and Go devotional offers you a daily point of connection with God – a singular moment in time to ground yourself in faith, direction and clarity. Imagine beginning your day not with chaos but with calm assurance, guided by Scripture and thoughtful reflection.

Growing up in Monaco with a non-practicing Catholic mother and an atheist father, the choice was mine if I wanted to go to church or not. I joined a boys’ choir when I was 11 years old because that seemed like the right thing to do. I traveled throughout Europe with
the choir and had a grand ole time, but my spirituality was non-existent.
I attended Catholic schools all the way through High School, both in Monaco and in the US. Each step of the way, we had Bible classes. I had a very good head knowledge of the Bible but was missing the heart
knowledge. Knowing the Bible is a good start, but what good does it do if I know how to build a car but don’t know how to drive it.
Thanks to many friends that guided me along the way, and my wife that finally pushed me past the finish line, when I was 26, it finally clicked. I made a true, heart-felt confession to make Jesus Christ, My Lord and My Savior. This started me on the path to make changes, changes to the music I listened to, the movies I watched, the
choices I made.
It took many more years to even understand that studying the Bible, God’s Word, was not boring or irrelevant, it was foundational to who I was, who I wanted to be and who I should become. Spending
that time, which I learned was called “having a quiet time” or “doing a devotional”, would radically change the course of my life, one verse at a time, one choice at the time. It didn’t need to be complex, spending hours upon hours dissecting theological truths out of the Scripture, it
needed to be true and be who I am, nothing more and nothing less.
Now in my 60s, I see the need and the desire to share this knowledge with as many as possible, specifically men because, generally, men tend to be non-committal to the things of God. We may have a heart that wants and desires the things of God, but we think that to be
effective for God, that’s the job of the pastors, the evangelists, the men that are paid to do church things.
That is so far from the truth! We need to sharpen our own sword every day. An unused blade will become dull from lack of use. Let’s not be an unused blade. This has become my ‘why’ I do what I do!
